thermodynamic-comedian:

actually i love it when the characters are all lying. i love it when they all have secrets and none of them trust each other. i love being given clues that solve puzzles i haven’t even been presented with yet. i also love it when i get chills watching a scene without even knowing what it means, and when i do know what it means, i get even more chills. i love theorizing and thinking and solving and coming up with possibilities of where a story might be going. i love it and i will do it for free, for fun, for no real reason.

this is a mystery appreciation post!! if you appreciate mysteries and secrets and stories that slowly unravel before you, please interact!!!

sleepnoises:

This comic is from 2018 for a competition that had an eight-page limit. It would be stronger if it was not crammed into eight pages but also it would definitely not exist. Win some lose some.

Anyway, I’ve never posted all of it here. Happy Monday! Have a creature.

i’ve always thought of ghosts as more like symptoms than the root cause of the problem or autonomous people with their own agenda to be honest

i mean think about it. where do ghosts tend to manifest? around victims of a particularly violent, lingering kind of grief - both places and people. wounds that refuse to heal, or are endlessly picked at, unable to be left alone, until they begin to fester and decay, oozing ghosts like pus, rot coming to the surface. a cry for help, and a warning - i am sick, i am hurt, you shouldn’t stay here. the delirium of an inflamed, fevered mind, sifting through its recollections and dredging up familiar faces and events in a desperate attempt at self-soothing, or letting them play out over and over again in the hope that maybe this time things will end differently, but only able to produce insubstantial spectres born of and bound to its pain and torment.

He COULD have materialized a perfect copy of the angelic uniform, but nah, he went for a cheap cosplay because what’s life if not a long chance to take the piss out of the enemy 💖✨ inspiring
